Studies on Cannabis Vastly Outnumber Most FDA-Approved Pharmaceuticals


More clinical studies have been performed on cannabis than most legal medications approved by the FDA, and yet it is classified as a Schedule I Controlled Substance alongside heroin and bath salts, despite the overwhelming evidence of its medicinal benefits.

An analysis shows that of 200 FDA-approved drugs, almost of third of those were passed based on a single study. Even more drugs were granted approval despite conflicting data, and only about 40% of those are compared to drugs that are actually being prescribed to patients. On average, these drugs have 70 different side effects while minor side effects induced by cannabis is small in comparison.
