Virginia House Unanimously Approves Cannabis Oil Bill

Virginia parents who have children suffering from epilepsy may soon be permitted to have a non-intoxicating strain of cannabis oil that has shown to be effective in controlling seizures. Tuesday, February 10th, the Republican controlled House of Delegates unanimously approved a measure, 98 to 0, that would allow parents of epileptic children to keep a supply of cannabidiol, without risking prosecution.

This is an obvious victory for these parents and it also indicates a shift in attitudes surrounding Virginia marijuana laws. State lawmakers, like Delegate Dave Albo, are very pleased with the results as it is the first piece of effective medical marijuana legislation in the state to earn such mass support.
